A charity’s fundraising income is generated via grants, donors, events and corporate partnerships. All of these streams of revenue however, are unstable. Each year MHC must “Hope” the funding will return to continue the capacity of our mission.

Either way, we wouldn't exist with their support.

Dr. Gayoso was the founding surgeon partner for My Hope Chest after relocating to Tampa Bay in 2010. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Gayoso was Chief of Plastic Surgery at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg 2005 thru 2018 and in December 2019, he was reappointed as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Bayfront Health St Petersburg until June 2021. He was Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Anthony’s Hospital from 2004 thru 2018. He is a member of The Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons and is a past president of the Tampa Bay Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Gayoso has participated in Faith In Practice, an international goodwill mission providing plastic and reconstructive surgical care in Guatemala, and also has volunteered for Iraq Star, which provides reconstructive care to wounded war soldiers in the Gulf. He derives great satisfaction from the restoration of form and function after illness and injury. His skills in microsurgery and reconstruction are in demand in our medical community.
Dr. Dallas R. Buchanan was born in Missouri and completed his undergraduate education at Truman State University. His medical degree was obtained from The University of Kansas. He then completed a full 5-year general surgery residency in Birmingham, Alabama, followed by a 3-year plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship in Philadelphia. After his training, Dr. Buchanan moved to Spokane, Washington, where he practiced for 4 years doing both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery with a focus on breast reconstruction. In 2018, Dr. Buchanan moved to Tampa and opened his own private practice, VIVIFY plastic surgery.
Dr. Buchanan is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of both The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is a member of The Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, and The Tampa Bay Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has a strong dedication to the cause of My Hope Chest and the rights of women to have breast reconstruction and helping usher patients through this very difficult and complicated process with ease. We are thrilled to have his expert talents on our team.
Our wonderful Dr. William Zamboni passed away in July of 2015. He was My Hope Chest’s founding surgeon is deeply missed. Dr. Zamboni was highly regarded as a person and surgeon and the world is at a loss due to his untimely passing.
To his many achievements, Dr. Zamboni was the chair of the Department of Surgery and chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas and director of the Microsurgery and Hyperbaric Research Laboratory at the School of Medicine.
He had received numerous distinctions and helped transform surgical care in Las Vegas. He was renowned for his medical innovations, establishing Nevada’s first limb reattachment center. So many lives have been hanged because Dr. Zamboni recognized the vision. He is survived by his wife and son.

Neil is a native of England, now living in Florida and a very special human and talent. He has been with the charity since our inception in 2003 and built My Hope Chest's marketing pieces, creating our original brand. His tireless commitment to our organization, never saying no with our last minute requests and often working into the wee hours to meet those deadlines, has built a brand we are very proud of. Neil is a testament, of not only the meaning of “charity” but also, one of true friendship.
